Report: Taylor Swift Could Be Considering Billion-Dollar Concert Residency

Taylor Swift is reportedly considering a potential concert residency that could become one of the biggest deals in live entertainment history, according to a report from Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice newsletter.

The report claims Swift could be exploring a residency opportunity worth up to $1 billion, with Madison Square Garden in New York City and the Sphere in Las Vegas reportedly among the venues interested in hosting the global superstar. Neither Swift nor her representatives have confirmed that a residency is being planned.

According to the report, Swift’s recent wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden may have brought additional attention to the venue as a possible location for a future concert residency. A source cited by Naughty But Nice claimed that discussions involving the arena extended beyond the private event.

“Everyone assumes the conversations are about the wedding. They’re not. The wedding may have opened the door, but the real prize is a Taylor Swift residency. That’s the billion-dollar opportunity everyone wants,” the source said, according to the report.

The report states that Swift could choose between two very different residency opportunities. Madison Square Garden offers a historic reputation and a long connection to major music performances, while the Sphere provides a newer venue built around immersive technology and large-scale visual production.

Both venues have recently hosted successful residencies from major artists. According to the report, Billy Joel’s residency at Madison Square Garden included 104 performances and generated an estimated $266.7 million. In Las Vegas, Celine Dion’s residencies reportedly earned a combined $681.3 million.

Industry sources cited in the report suggested Swift could potentially surpass those financial milestones due to her global fanbase and the continued success of her live performances. One entertainment executive told “Naughty But Nice” that Swift could create a new standard for concert residencies.

“Taylor isn’t competing with Billy Joel or Celine Dion. She’s competing with herself. If anyone can create the first billion-dollar residency, it’s Taylor,” the executive said, according to the report.

Swift’s possible residency would follow the success of “The Eras Tour,” which became one of the highest-grossing concert tours in history and featured performances across multiple continents.
