Swedish House Mafia Breaks Attendance Record With Gothenburg Concert

Swedish House Mafia set a new Nordic attendance record for an electronic music concert after drawing nearly 66,000 fans to Ullevi stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Swedish electronic trio of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso performed for 65,972 people at the stadium on Saturday, August 29. The attendance figure made the show the group’s largest concert to date and Sweden’s biggest concert of 2026 so far. 

The performance marked a major homecoming for Swedish House Mafia, which formed in Stockholm and helped bring electronic dance music to stadiums and mainstream audiences around the world. The group delivered a career-spanning set featuring some of its best-known songs, including “Don’t You Worry Child.”

The trio performed from a specially designed 360-degree stage positioned in the center of Ullevi, allowing the crowd to surround the production. Four towers equipped with large LED screens were placed around the stadium to give fans views of the performance.

The production also incorporated lasers, smoke and pyrotechnics throughout the show. Before Swedish House Mafia took the stage, an airplane flew over the venue and produced a pyrotechnic display across the sky.

Live Nation Sweden head promoter Richard “Sejka” Ardermark said the size of the crowd and the group’s return to Sweden made the concert particularly significant.

“There was something incredibly special about seeing Swedish House Mafia come home and create a night like this,” Ardermark said.

He added that the production involved substantial creative and logistical ambition, but said the audience ultimately defined the experience.

“What really made it unforgettable was seeing that many people singing, dancing and experiencing it together,” Ardermark said. “We’re incredibly proud of everyone who brought this show to life.”
