‘Beetlejuice’ Sets Early Closing Date in London’s West End

“Beetlejuice” will bring its West End run to an earlier-than-expected end, with the musical now scheduled to play its final performance at London’s Prince Edward Theatre on January 2, 2027.

The production had previously been booking through April 17, meaning the revised closing date shortens its planned engagement by more than three months. No reason for the change was included in the closing announcement.

The musical opened at the Prince Edward Theatre on May 28, 2026, marking its West End debut after three separate Broadway engagements. The London production will have played for just over seven months when it closes in January.

Olivier Award nominee David Fynn leads the company as Beetlejuice, with Tom Xander appearing as the alternate in the title role. Hannah Nordberg stars as Lydia Deetz, while Daisy Harrison serves as the alternate Lydia.

The principal cast also includes David Hunter as Adam Maitland, Chelsea Halfpenny as Barbara Maitland and Alasdair Harvey as Charles Deetz. Summer Strallen currently plays Delia Deetz and will remain with the production through November 2. Aimie Atkinson, a member of the original West End cast of “SIX: The Musical,” will take over the role beginning November 3 and continue through the closing performance.

Other members of the company include Chasity Crisp as Maxine Dean and Juno, Richard Frame as Otho, Irvine Iqbal as Maxie Dean, Rachel Macdougall as Girl Scout and Vanessa Aurora Sierra as Miss Argentina.

The musical features a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King, with music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect. Alex Timbers directs the production, with choreography by Connor Gallagher. The creative team also includes scenic designer David Korins, costume designer William Ivey Long, lighting designer Kenneth Posner and sound designer Peter Hylenski. Kris Kukul provides music supervision, orchestrations and incidental music.

“Beetlejuice” originally opened on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre in April 2019. After that engagement was interrupted by the COVID-19 shutdown, the musical returned at the Marquis Theatre in April 2022 and remained there until January 2023.

A third Broadway engagement began at the Palace Theatre in October 2025. The show has also toured across the United States and received international productions in cities including Tokyo, Seoul, Melbourne and Abu Dhabi.
